Remember those anti-drug/pot ads where you’d see a person melted into a pool or sunken into their couch?  Haha, unfortunately so do I.  Honestly that’s what I felt like though when I turned on the new Duakalion single, Ascension (Interlude), from his upcoming project The Journey of the Lost ARK.

The whole track is straight lyricism.  Nothing but bars, bars, bars, metaphors and bars.  You could probably make a bunch of memes for the whole track just like this one:

Hahaha.  Dukalion brings the heat with each and every line.  Not only that but his inflection and voice add so much to it.  Plenty people spit bars without anything else on the track, which often makes it very boring.  I suggest listening to it a few times over just so you can catch everything.  With the track coming in just under two minutes, that shouldn’t be a problem either. The production by Hakeem Paragon is spot on.  There is a slight hiccup at the beginning of the verse with the adlib being slightly louder and a half second off, besides that, the track in perfect.

Though short, it is a great display off Dukalion’s talents.  Better even then his single Reggie & A. Miller.  Enough, enough already, I know.  I can’t say enough good things about this, but I might have already (ha).  Since you probably aren’t reading this anyways, take a listen to the new track at the bottom of this post.

And if you happen to be in the Los Angeles area June 18th, make sure you come out to see Dukalion and a whole bunch of other acts at the Stank Face fest.  You can find out more information and tickets here:  https://sffla.splashthat.com/
